Developing our housing in Broadhempston: Have your say by 24th January 2022

Teignbridge District Council (TDC) have identified a further 3 site options in Broadhempston for new housing development to be considered with the 3 already published and are seeking your views as residents of Broadhempston. Details of the latest consultation (including how to give your opinion) can be found at https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/planning/local-plans-and-policy/local-plan-review-2020-2040, and details of the 3 sites in Broadhempston can be found at https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/338dcef0a9d44ddbb0a3c7a49701efd0.

Since the last response to TDC in August, a group of village residents are working together with Broadhempston Community Land Trust and the Parish Council to coordinate a response to TDC which will have affordability and sustainability of new houses in the village as a priority. Over the next few years, we want to see new homes built in our village which are in keeping with our village character and layout, preserving green and historical open places and at the same time ensure we have new affordable and sustainable homes for young and older people and their families to live in.

The group will send a response to TDC by 24th January 2022. We need your help to do this. We need you to help shape the local plan by giving your feedback on the 3 new proposed sites.

If you would like to know more or want to be kept informed of the details and progress of the working group, please contact residents@broadhempston.org.uk or send your views to localplanreview@teignbridge.gov.uk. Alternatively, we will be sharing details of our proposal as it emerges in posters we will exhibit in the village.
