We are a small archery club based in the village of Broadhempston with, currently, 15 adult and 6 junior members. BROAC was formed in 2013 with the aid of a grant from Sport England. We are a small sociable club run by volunteers with no paid coaches.
Current members shoot a variety of bow types, ie recurve, compound, flatbow and longbow. The club has a a good stock of archery equipment that folks new to the club, and who do not yet own their own equipment, can use on club nights.
During the winter months we shoot once a week on a Monday evening in the village hall. This allows about an 18m shooting range. In the summer months we shoot once a week on a Monday evening outdoors at Headlands (our village sports field) where space and shooting range are not restricted (we can also use Headlands at weekends during the daytime in the winter, weather permitting).
Due to our restricted indoor capacity total membership of the club is limited to approximately 20 senior and 20 junior members.
For safety and insurance purposes, membership of the club requires membership of Archery GB and evidence of having completed an approved beginner’s course.
We aim to run beginner’s courses once or twice a year depending on demand, and keep a list of contact details of people who have expressed an interest so that we can inform them when a course is planned.
If you would like to be considered for membership and/or take part in a beginner’s course then please send your contact details to:
